Considered by many as a masterpiece of the Western canon, the revolutionary use of language employed by Eliot, as inspired by Beethoven’s late quartets, crystallises the world of eurythmy, enabling the artists to permeate the barrier between the visible and the unseen world, allowing the audience a glimpse beyond the veil.
Eliot considered Beethoven’s late quartets to be ‘inexhaustible’, introducing a new grace and freedom. When performed in concert with Eurythmy, Eliot’s “Four Quartets” elicits a powerful, profound response and an experience of the forces of language.
The art of eurythmy uses dynamic movement and gesture as an embodiment of the spoken word.
Eurythmist: Mark Neil, Voice: Irish born actor, Dennis Coard, Cello: Gotthard Killian
