An Easter Sunday Pictorial Contemplation
With artist and phenomenologist Fiona Campbell
This Easter Sunday afternoon webinar ponders the significance of the empty tomb for apostles Peter, John and Thomas in light of their special destinies.
St John’s Gospel provides us with unique portrayals of the apostles through descriptive scenes that hold keys to their particular paths through discipleship before and after the Resurrection. There is much about these three individualities that is significant for us today.
Using the paintings of two modern masters, Fiona Campbell will lead us through a contemplation of their artworks using an immersive form of phenomenological observation called ‘beholding’ that allows us to experience an artwork from within it.
Suggested reading: John 20
