Drawing on the writings and practices of Rudolf Steiner and Georg Kühlewind, the talk will set out a theory of what is involved in being an artist of our time and then explore the particular demands, creative opportunities of speaking poetry and acting a part. Reference will be made to master performers such as Mechthild and Alan Harkness, and Barbara and  Peter Bridgmont, as harbingers of future possibilities.
